Midwestern University Student Handbook
Welcome to the Midwestern University family! As your Deans of Students, we are honored to welcome you to our vibrant academic community on both our Glendale, AZ and Downers Grove, IL campuses.
At Midwestern University, we are dedicated to "Preparing Tomorrow's Healthcare Team" by fostering an environment where you can thrive personally and professionally. Our commitment to your journey is built on four essential pillars:
- Student Success: Your achievement is our ultimate goal. We provide rigorous academic programs and direct evidence of success through high licensure examination pass rates, ensuring you are well-equipped for your future healthcare career.
- Sense of Belonging: We believe in a mosaic of perspectives where every student belongs. By embracing cultural and social diversity, we create a supportive, inclusive environment that feels more like a family than an institution.
- Comprehensive Support: We are here for you outside the formal classroom. The Office of Student Services offers everything from academic tutoring and disability services to student counseling and wellness programs, supporting your emotional, physical, and intellectual well-being.
- Active Engagement: Growth happens when you get involved. We encourage you to participate in student organizations, community service, and leadership opportunities that supplement your clinical training and help you build lasting connections with your future colleagues.
You have chosen a noble path, and we are committed to providing the resources and mentorship you need to excel. We look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish.
Sincerely,
Dr. Shannon Sesterhenn, Dean of Students, Glendale Campus
Dr. Megan Dallianis, Dean of Students, Downers Grove Campus
